Aleksey Popkov, Director General of CJSC “Nevsky Plant” (manufacturing site of REP Holding), has been recognized as the best top-manager of the year according to independent Chief of 2017 Year Business Award in the nomination “Chief of Import Substitution”. This nomination is awarded for realization of current socially important projects related to import substitution, for introducing the new national equipment, for unique technologies and developments.

Official ceremony where the winners were bestowed with the XIth Chief of the Year Award was held on the 16th of October. The best chiefs were selected in eight categories: “Chief of Import Substitution”, “Breakthrough Chief of the Year”, “Chief of Innovation”, “Chief of Publicity”, “Chief of Care”, “Chief Philantropist”, “Honored Chief” and “Young Chief”.

Popkov Aleksey headed Nevsky Plant, the leading Russian power generating machines building company, since 2011. This year Nevsky Plant is celebrating its 160 Year Anniversary. Under his guidance the programmes of import substitution and advanced technology localization were realized, production of new product types was adopted, highly effective competitive Russian world-level equipment was developed. Today Nevsky Plant is an important manufacturing link in modernization process of the Russian power generation and oil& gas industry. This is an only Manufacturer of industrial 16 and 32 MW gas turbines and of centrifugal compressors for LNG Projects in Russia and a key Manufacturer of turbine and compressor equipment for the largest infrastructure projects of the country. Products of Nevsky Plant are used on the sites of the fuel-power generation sector, metallurgical, machine engineering, petrochemical, oil&gas industries, and on the sites subject to re-construction and new construction of the main gas pipelines, such as, Power of Siberia pipeline, Bovanenkovo-Ukhta pipeline, Turkish Stream pipeline, etc.
