«REP Holding» introduced the first Russian LNG compressor at SPIGF-2017

«REP Holding» took part in the VII St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, which was held from 3 to 6 October on the grounds of the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This year the Forum brought together more than 4,500 delegates from 43 countries, and the total number of visitors was more than 11,000 people. The geography of international participants has also considerably expanded: for the first time there were representatives of Cuba, Turkmenistan, Venezuela, Equatorial Guinea, Paraguay, Algeria and Uzbekistan. SPIGF-2017 was held with the participation of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, as well as with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the State Duma Committee on Energy, the Government of St. Petersburg, the Russian Gas Society, the National Association of Oil and Gas Services, the National Gas-Engine Consortium of Italy (NGV Italy).

«REP Holding» as an official partner took part in the II annual exhibition of PJSC Gazprom «Import Substitution in Gas Industry», held as a part of the Forum. This year, the emphasis had been placed on equipment and advanced technological solutions of Russian manufacturers for LNG plants.

The exhibition comprehensively presented a wide range of equipment for the production of liquefied natural gas, heat-exchange and pump-compressor equipment, LNG storage and shipping systems, pipe and chemical products, automation and communication systems.

The central place of REP Holding’s exposition of was allocated to the first Russian centrifugal compressor for the refrigeration cycle К-905-71-1С - the cutting-edge development, which is of strategic importance for the further growth of the country compressor industry in the field of LNG production . The compressor was designed and manufactured by the Holding this year. Is is of key importance in the technological process of liquefying natural gas. Compressor has two sections in one barrel-type casing, 7 compression stages, as well as the use of "dry" gas-dynamic seals and high-tech elements of the flow section – one-piece-milled axial-radial impellers with tree-dimensional blades. «REP Holding» is the only Russian companies that has mastered the manufacture of these elements and actively apply them in its new projects.

The production of compressors of mixed refrigerant, developed by the REP Holding, in the long term will allow to create Russian LNG technology, increase the share of domestic high-tech compressor equipment used in construction of medium- and large-capacity plants, and also reduce dependence on expensive service programs of foreign manufacturers.

This compressor will be shipped to the LNG terminal in Vysotsk as part of a compressor unit of mixed refrigerant. A stationary gas turbine of a simple cycle with a capacity of 22/25 MW will be used as the compressor drive. It will be the first Russian project for GTU T25, the production of which is located on the site of "REP Holding" within the licensing agreement with Solar Turbines.

Also the models of modern gas-pumping units and multi-purpose power plants in the power range of 16-32 MW were presented at the REP Holding exhibition stand.

During the Forum, the exhibition stand of REP Holding was visited by Russian and international delegations - the management of PJSC Gazprom, headed by Deputy Chairman of the Board Vitaly Markelov, the delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade headed by Deputy Minister Vasily Osmakov and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission under the Government of the Russian Federation Oleg Bochkarev, the official delegation of Bolivia, led by the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy Luis Alberto Sanchez, the management of the national company of Kazakhstan "KazMunayGas", the top management of the state oil and gas company of the Republic of Paraguay "Petropar", as well as representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Transport, the Government of St. Petersburg, domestic and foreign companies and industry associations.

The REP Holding representatives took an active part in the Forum's congress program. So, President Tagir Nigmatulin made a report «New Russian competences. REP Holding equipment for LNG projects» at the meeting on technological development of PJSC Gazprom, where he presented a new line of compressor equipment, told about the unique experience of production of the first domestic compressor of mixed refrigerant, presented the company's achievements in the field of projects for the oil and gas sector, and shared his expert opinion on the prospects of the industry development and the potential of Russian manufacturers.

«Thanks to the long-term partnership with Gazprom, the range of centrifugal compressors produced in our company has increased more than 3-fold, and this is only for the last 10 years. In addition, as a result of more than 60 years of cooperation, new technologies in the design and manufacture of world-class compressor equipment have been mastered, new competencies in the production of compressor units for production complexes have been obtained, system efficiency has been systematically increased, the program for import substitution and the creation of a high-tech competitive Russian products has been actively applied, » - said Tagir Nigmatulin.

Maxim Kaytanov, Vice President of Sales, REP Holding, presented advanced projects for gas industry facilities at the conference "Day of Gazprombank. Territories of cooperation".

«We are ready to offer a wide range of turbo-compressor equipment, in particular, modern industrial turbines with a power range from 16 to 32 MW for the gas transportation industry, - said Maxim Kaitanov. - These products are in great demand today in the Gazprom Group. Thus, a portfolio of orders for machines with a capacity of 32 MW has already been formed until 2019. Thanks to the modern production and scientific and engineering base, as well as the successful experience of localization of advanced technologies, the products developed by us are highly competitive in quality with world leaders - in terms of efficiency and in environmental characteristics».

The REP Holding representatives participated in the key event of the SPIGF - plenary session «The Role of the Russian Gas Complex in the World Energy Balance», which took place on October, 5. There were Georgy Poltavchenko, Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom's Management Committee, Bolivia's Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy Luis Alberto Sanchez Fernandez, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uniper SE Klaus Schäfer, Chairman of the Board of OMV AG Rainer Seele, Executive Director for Gas Business and New Energy Sources, Member of the Executive Committee of Royal Dutch Shell Maarten Wetselaar, Head of Lambert Energy Consulting Company Philippe Lambert among speakers.

Experts discussed the development of the Russian gas industry, energy security and prospects for the development of LNG, the introduction of new technologies and innovative productions. Alexander Medvedev noted changes in global energy - gas consumption growth and increased responsibility for the environment. He also said that liquefied natural gas generates not «time-serving» but «fundamental» demand and represents «the optimal fuel for the transport industry of the 21st century».

On the final day of the SPIGF's work, on October, 6, an excursion was organized for the delegates to the main power machine building site of the Holding - Nevsky Plant, which celebrates its 160th anniversary this year. "REP Holding" was an official partner of the technical program of the Forum.

During the excursion, guests were shown the main production sites, modern world-class complexes for the manufacture of turbo-compressor equipment of new generation. The guests saw the technological lines and the testing base, as well as new developments of the REP Holding facilities for LNG projects, oil and gas and energy industries.

About 20 representatives of oil and gas companies took part in the excursion: designers, manufacturers and consumers of power and gas turbine equipment. There were Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta, SPMK Magistral, NPF Plant Izmeron, JSC KMPO, PJSC Cryogenmash representatives among those, who visited the Nevsky Plant.

The delegates noted the high culture of production, modern technical equipment and the scale of implemented projects, and also exchanged production experience, and discussed cooperation.

As a follow-up to the Forum, the leadership of the SPIGF awarded REP Holding with diplomas for support in organizing and assisting in carrying out a specialized exposition "Import Substitution in Gas Industry", as well as for active participation in the practical implementation of the import substitution policy and the relevance of the exposition.
