On October 26 St. Petersburg hosted the Third Forum of North-West big business «Top 250» timed to the release by the «Expert North-West» journal of ranking the largest companies in the North-West Federal District. The main topic of the Forum was discussion of the development strategies for the key sectors of the regional economics in the conditions of global economic integration.
The forum brought together the leaders of the regional economics, including CEO of the ranked companies, representatives of the business and political elites of the region, authoritative analysts and consultants, regional officials and representatives of the most authoritative research institutions.
The Forum topics correlated traditionally with the results of ranking the 250 largest companies of the North-West Federal District made by the «Expert North-West» journal for the past thirteen years running. This year «REP Holding» has gone up 65 points higher compared to the last year, being ranked among the top hundred of the largest companies in the region.
«REP Holding» specialists took an active part in the Forum and acted as speakers at one of the round tables. The discussion on «Choose the Development Vector: Ways of industrial modernization in the current economic conditions» was participated by Yuriy Moshnyakov, Director of the Energy Department, and Vladimir Kvach, Head of Planning and Economic Department of «Nevskiy Zavod», who shared their experience in the modernization of the Holding production facilities and took part in the discussion of the existing economic opportunities and constraints as regards upgrading of the facilities and infrastructure, the trends in the power engineering industry and regional market, the state support of the growth strategies.
Upon completion of the discussions, Nikolai Kovalev, Executive Vice-President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of St. Petersburg, put forward the initiative of drafting a joint official letter to the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg with a proposal for a more effective co-operation of business and government in promoting the modernization of industrial enterprises and the development of such infrastructure projects as an important component of economic growth.Back to the news
