REP Holding has completed the manufacture of spare parts to upgrade the two turbo-compressor units installed at Arcelor Mittal Metallurgical Plant located in the Rumanian city of Galati.
The upgrading of the equipment became necessary due to expiry of the service life of the turbo-compressors and the need to change the performance of the units. The equipment was manufactured on the production site of REP Holding - Nevskiy Zavod, all the work was completed on time in accordance with the terms of the contract.
Within the scope of this order REP Holding manufactured flow channels, rotors and diaphragms for two steam turbines AKV-18 and two compressors K5500 (produced by Nevski Zavod), AMCS system, spare parts for the governing systems etc.
To date, the equipment has been shipped to the Customer and in the nearest time REP Holding specialists will proceed to supervision of installation and pre- commissioning activities on site. Commissioning of the units is scheduled for October 2014.

In the late 1970's five turbo-compressor units on the basis of K-5500 compressor and AKV steam turbine rated at 18 MW were manufactured for the Rumanian steel plant at Nevskiy Zavod (a subsidiary of the holding company's RAP"). These turbo-compressor units were designed to compress air and feed it to the blast furnace and were to be operated in the sinter shop of the metallurgical plant.Back to the news
