On May 28 the oldest maritime institutions in the country Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy celebrated the anniversary - 135 years since its foundation. Makarov Training Centre traces its history to 1876 when the decree of Emperor Alexander II was educated classes navigability of the St. Petersburg River Yacht Club, initiating the world's largest scientific and educational center to train specialists for the Russian Navy. In 1944 a decree was signed by State Defense Council on Education of the Leningrad Higher Marine College (LVIMU) in 1949, named after the famous Admiral Makarov. In December 1990 LVIMU acquired the status of the academy.
«REP Holding» took an active part in the festivities, as well as in the exhibition of achievements of the marine industry, held at Maritime College Academy. Among the officials invited to the celebration were the graduates of the electromechanical department «Makarovka»: President of «REP Holding» Gennady Lokotkov, Adviser to the President Gennady Lebedev, General Director of CJSC «SPC «Shipping electric propulsion» Andrei Grigoriev.
After the dress parade of cadets, students and teachers on the anniversary congratulated Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin, the famous explorer of Arctic and Antarctic, the hero of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation Artur Chilingarov, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Vadim Tyulpanov.
The official part ended with a march in review and fireworks. Guests led by Transport Minister Igor Levitin observed an exhibition of achievements of the marine industry, where special interest was attracted by the stand of «REP Holding» with presented innovations in the field of shipbuilding.
After viewing the exhibition was inaugurated an academic training center for survival at sea, was held gala concert and sporting events within the the sports contest of St. Petersburg transport universities.Back to the news
